Parking Information

Parking will be available at the Danforth University Center (DUC) Garage, located just off Forsyth Blvd. Additional parking will be available in the Parking Facility (Millbrook), Lot 29 (on Snow Way) and the East End Garage.

The entrance to Carnival is located by the Danforth University Center garage. Signs will be posted near the entrance. Note that the Carnival exit is on Forsyth Boulevard this year.

Carnival Rules

  • Metal detector at the Entrance

    No bags are allowed at ThurtenE Carnival. If brought, a bag check will be located near the Carnival Entrance

  • People Under 18 need a Guardian

    At least one guardian over 18 years old per group of 10 people is required to enter carnival

  • Entrance and Exit

    Separate Entrance and Exits will be present to prevent bottlenecks

  • Security Presence

    WUPD will be fully staffed over the course of the weekend

  • WashU Student ID

    All WashU students will need to present a valid Student ID when entering carnival. WashU students under 18 do not need a guardian to enter

  • Be Safe!

    Look out for people in Yellow Jackets as points of contact and listen to their instructions in the event of an emergency

    Exceptions will be made for Service Animals

    Exceptions will be made for Medical Bags

  • No Banners or signs

  • No Outside Food and Drink

FAQs

What are the costs to Enter?

Entering Carnival is completely free, however rides and booths do charge money to participate in the activity or for food. Rides typically cost between $2 and $5.

How much do Tickets cost?

Tickets are $1 each or $20 for a sheet of 24 tickets. If bought through the presale, the price is $18 for a sheet of 24 tickets. All tickets bought are non refundable. We offer an All-you-can-ride pass for Friday evenings only for $25.

Will tickets from Last Year be valid this year?

Yes, tickets purchased last year will be honored this year.

What can I expect at Carnival?

You can expect plenty of fun games and rides, alongside booths run by different student groups! The theme this year is “Ready, Set, ThurtenE”, so be on the lookout for themed games and activities during Carnival!

What is a Community Partner?

Each year the carnival hosts a community partner to connect the WashU and Greater St. Louis community to the work done by numerous organizations to make St. Louis a great place. Through the carnival we hope to provide visibility and promote the important initiatives of our partner. We’re happy to announce that our Community Partner is St. Louis Arc this year!

What is ThurtenE?

ThurtenE is an Honorary consisting of 13 members of WashU’s Junior Class each year. These 13 Juniors are responsible for planning Carnival and making a positive impact on the community.

General Rules

  • Disrespectful, disruptive, and other unsafe behaviors including bullying and harassment, will not be tolerated at ThurtenE Carnival and can result in removal from ThurtenE Carnival or arrest.

  • No firearms, knives, explosives, and/or other prohibited items are permitted on WashU’s campus or at ThurtenE Carnival

  • No outside alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and/or other prohibited substances are permitted at ThurtenE Carnival

  • All guests must comply with WashU’s Danforth Campus Facility Access Policy
